Description
Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG), a rapidly growing management consulting firm, is seeking a Business Development Analyst to lead capture efforts for high growth/priority areas for the firm. We are seeking qualified candidates with prior experience driving the entire capture lifecycle from opportunity identification through proposal submission. Ideal candidates will be highly experienced in developing pipelines, opportunity identification, and shaping and positioning activities leading to the successful capture of opportunism.
MSG provides consulting services across the federal government in the areas of training and technical assistance, research and evaluation, marketing and communications, program management, and technology and digital services. Our federal clients include the U.S. Departments of Education, Health and Human Services, Agriculture, Labor, and Justice.
This position follows a hybrid schedule, with onsite work in our Bethesda, Maryland office Tuesday-Thursday and remote work on Mondays and Fridays.
Job Responsibilities/Duties
  • Lead capture planning and execution for selected opportunities. Preference for prior experience in building Marketing and Communications pipeline.
  • Develop a deep understanding of MSG services, markets, content areas, and differentiators.
  • Develop a strong understanding of both customer requirements and the company's services, helping to ensure proper alignment.
  • Report on progress towards stated business goals and objectives.
  • Build a pipeline of federal government opportunities for the organization to bid on that align with MSG's strategic vision and tactical plan.
  • Conduct opportunity and information search using tools such as public and private marketing forecast tools and internal databases.
  • Identify opportunities, conduct SWOT analysis, competitor analysis, and monitor contracting trends, and specific opportunities.
  • Lead and/or support teaming strategies, teaming agreements, and proposal responses.
  • Attend industry days, agency outreach events, and networking functions.
  • Participate in capture meetings with customers and internal solution development planning meetings.
  • Foster relationships with potential partners, federal government contract officers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Recruit and manage relations with subject matter experts and contingent staff for potential proposals
  • Support development of MSG's knowledge management systems in file storage, SMEs database, capturing information, etc.
  • Assist in the ongoing improvement of business development, capture, knowledge management, and strategic planning processes within the organization.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, or another closely related field of study, from an accredited college university.
  • Five+ years' post-graduation progressive experience in business development or similar research-focused role(s); preferably in the government contracting or management consulting space.
  • Experience with public and private marketing forecast tools and internal databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to present organizational capabilities and align solutions with client requirements. Strong collaborative skills with internal marketing and communication team.
  • Demonstrated understanding and successful experience capturing for a Marketing and Communications business pipeline, preferred.
