Job description

Join this successful global chemical organization as they expand their water treatment chemical sales team in the Greater Toronto Area.  This is a home-based position traveling in the field daily.  Our client is looking for a high-energy, new account, and new business developer to fill an Account Manager position in the GTA.  This role is focused on account management and on prospecting for new accounts in the industrial and municipal water treatment markets. This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of a focused business unit within one of the largest raw material chemical suppliers in the world.  It’s also a solid income and career growth opportunity, with excellent opportunities for advancement. There will likely be no overnight travel in this role.

Responsibilities: Extensively prospect for new accounts and develop new business opportunities at existing accounts in the water treatment market.  Sell a broad range of specialty and commodity chemicals used in water treatment applications to industrial and municipal accounts in the GTA.  The product line is large and includes polymers, flocculants, scale inhibitors, pH adjusters, etc.  Make inroads at prospective accounts, evaluate customer needs and develop strategies to promote the company’s products as the preferred solutions. Develop and execute the sales and prospecting strategy for the territory. Utilize a CRM program (Salesforce) to track account activity and progress.  Communicate effectively with management and cross-functionally within the organization.

Requirements: 3+ years of chemical industry sales experience in or related to water treatment.  A bachelor’s degree is required, and a technical degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related science is strongly preferred.  A hunter mentality with strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must.  Willingness to travel overnight if needed.
