Job description

Job Title: Business Case Analyst

Job Summary:
Providge is seeking a Data Platform Analyst to support platform operations, documentation, and stakeholder coordination. This role focuses on analyzing business needs, documenting processes, and translating requirements into clear, actionable inputs for platform development and improvement.
The Data Platform Analyst will work across business, technical, and data teams to support users onboarding, product operations, and knowledge management. Responsibilities include maintaining documentation, identifying capability gaps, and ensuring information is organized, accessible, and aligned with program goals.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and a strong communicator, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and document business needs and use cases for the Enterprise Data Platform.
  • Gather requirements through stakeholder meetings and translate them into clear user stories, process flows, and documentation.
  • Document current and future processes, and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Create and maintain process guides, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Support platform operations, including intake, prioritization, tracking requests, and coordinating across teams.
  • Maintain clear, organized, and up-to-date documentation, including requirements, decision logs, and knowledge articles.
  • Translate technical information into easy-to-understand, business-facing documentation.
  • Support product planning activities such as roadmaps, sprint planning, and stakeholder updates.
  • Track risks, issues, dependencies, and action items to support delivery.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including business, product, engineering, and data governance.
  • Help define and track metrics for platform performance, adoption, and improvements.
  • Manage and improve knowledge repositories to ensure information is accurate, accessible, and up to date.
  • Identify documentation gaps and improve knowledge management practices.
  • Support cost analysis, including system lifecycle costs and potential cost savings.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Experience supporting business analysis, product analysis, process improvement, or technology delivery.
  • Ability to gather and document business and user needs, including pain points and desired outcomes.
  • Experience documenting workflows, processes, and operational procedures (current and future state).
  • Ability to translate stakeholder needs into clear requirements, user stories, and process flows.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to create clear documentation for both business and technical audiences.
  • Experience creating and maintaining documents such as requirements, SOPs, meeting notes, and decision logs.
  • Ability to identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience supporting stakeholder meetings, workshops, and requirements gathering sessions.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to track tasks, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams, including business, technical, and data teams.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Jira, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Visio, or similar.
  • Ability to summarize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in analysis or program/product support roles.
  • Experience managing and improving documentation and knowledge repositories.
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity standards (e.g., National Institute of Standards and Technology frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework and NIST SP 800-53).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Preferred):
  • Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred) from an accredited institution with three (3) years of experience, OR at least four (4) years in business analysis with three (3) years performing Business Case work (no degree required)
  • Experience supporting data, analytics, cloud, or enterprise technology platforms
  • Scrum Master experience and/or Agile certifications preferred
  • Familiarity with data governance, data access, intake, and analytics workflows
  • Experience with Agile practices including backlog management, user stories, sprint planning, and roadmaps
  • Ability to create executive-level materials such as summaries, briefs, and stakeholder updates
  • Experience with process mapping, RACI development, SOPs, and operational improvements
  • Experience supporting platform intake, prioritization, and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience working in regulated, federal, financial, or security-focused environments
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, architecture, data governance, security, infrastructure, analytics)
  • Ability to identify patterns across use cases and translate them into reusable platform capabilities
  • Experience improving documentation quality, consistency, and usability across knowledge assets
  • Experience developing reusable templates, playbooks, FAQs, process guides, and decision logs
  • Strong knowledge management experience in enterprise or regulated environments
