Job description

Required Qualifications
  1. 10+ years of recent, hands-on development experience with BASIS International technologies, specifically Progression/5 (BBx/Pro/5) and Business Basic for Java (BBj).
    • Candidates should be currently or recently actively developing in these technologies, with 10+ years of relevant experience.
    • Experience should primarily be software development (approximately 80% or more) focused on building new features, functionality, and capabilities rather than production support, break/fix work, or minor enhancements.
    • Current BBj experience should primarily involve system integrations and backend functionality, rather than graphical user interface (GUI) development.
  2. Strong system integration experience involving Pro/5, including developing and supporting inbound and outbound integrations using technologies/protocols such as HTTP, XML, RPC, APIs or similar methods.
  3. Demonstrated ability to learn and work effectively within an existing/custom codebase originally designed and developed by other engineers.
  4. Experience developing software from functional and/or technical specifications created by others, while working within a structured, formal Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) environment.
  5. Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including the ability to create and execute SQL queries for application troubleshooting, data analysis, and issue investigation.
Preferred / Plus Qualifications
  1. Hospitality or Vacation Ownership industry experience is strongly preferred.
  2. Hands-on development experience with both Progression/5 and BBj, particularly for building and maintaining system-to-system integrations.
  3. Unix/Linux shell scripting experience for application support, automation, integration, or troubleshooting.
  4. Experience with additional Business Basic variants, such as Thoroughbred BASIC, ProvideX/PxPlus, or MAI OpenBasic.
  5. Experience using enterprise logging and application monitoring platforms, such as Splunk or Dynatrace, to investigate application issues, troubleshoot integrations, and perform root-cause analysis.
