Business Analytics Consultant
Wealth Management Investment Strategy and Execution Data
Full-time, Boston or Springfield, MA
The Opportunity
As a Business Analytics Consultant, you will apply your data and analytics expertise to support MassMutual's growing Wealth Management organization. In this role, you will source and analyze critical data, define key business metrics, and deliver actionable reporting and insights to business partners. The Team
This role is part of the Wealth Management Investment Strategy and Execution Data team, which provides reporting and analytics support for MassMutual's Private Wealth organization. The team serves as the business owner for many shared reports and partners closely with operations, regional sales, compliance, and asset management teams. While each team member has defined areas of responsibility, collaboration across projects is central to how we work. Together, we deliver critical data, reporting, and analytics capabilities that support the Wealth Management business line. The Impact
As a Business Analytics Consultant, your responsibilities will include:
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and distribute large volumes of information with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage & automate data processes across multiple sources and understand the relationships among key data elements
  • Perform data exploration and analysis using tools such as Alteryx, Alteryx Server, Tableau, Microsoft Office, and related platforms.
  • Provide reporting support to MassMutual home office and field partners through KPI reporting, policy notifications, and interactive dashboards.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses across areas such as product performance, customer and advisor criteria, compensation programs, and Sales & AUM KPIs.
  • Present findings and recommendations to management based on research, analysis, and business insights.
  • Partner with team members to develop and deliver complex reports and analyses.
  • Apply business and technical expertise to improve and automate reporting processes.
  • Provide technical support to Business Intelligence platform users by helping them access data and create custom reports.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external business partners to support data sourcing and reporting needs.

The Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in the financial services or broker-dealer industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in a reporting and/or analytics role.
  • 1+ years of experience with data workflow tools such as Alteryx, MicroStrategy, or Tableau Prep.

The Ideal Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Finance, Mathematics, Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
  • 5+ years of experience in a reporting and/or analytics role.
  • 3+ years of experience in the broker-dealer and/or financial services industry.
  • 3+ years of experience using data workflow and business intelligence tools to blend data, develop reports, and deliver analytics.
  • 1+ year of experience using SQL and Python.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range:
$102,500-$134,500
