Job description

School Bus Terminal Manager

At Lamers Bus Lines, we've been a trusted part of Wisconsin communities since 1944. We're looking for a School Bus Terminal Manager who shares our heart for the families and children we're proud to serve every day. In this role, you'll lead a dedicated local team, ensuring kids arrive safely and that our neighbors can always count on us. We're looking for someone organized, communicative, and passionate about safe, reliable transportation, with prior management experience and a CDL license (or willingness to obtain) being a plus. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage daily operations including office staff, drivers, and mechanics.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, and driver file maintenance for DOT compliance.
  • Manage and schedule charter and school bus bookings.
  • Maintain fleet condition, coordinate vehicle maintenance, and ensure equipment safety.
  • Develop customer relationships and drive new business opportunities.
  • Monitor customer billing and payment collections.
  • Obtain CDL and occasionally assist with driving.
  • Coordinate building and grounds maintenance as needed.
Job Requirements:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or minimum 2 years of relevant transportation industry experience.
  • Prior experience in school bus operations is a plus.
  • Valid CDL (Class B or higher) with school bus and passenger endorsements or willingness to obtain– training provided.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic office software; ability to learn internal systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
