Republic Airways is recruiting Shuttle Dispatchers who are positive, dependable, and focused on maintaining the safety of our guests and associates as they hold the responsibility of fulfilling campus transportation needs, including the 105,000 square foot trainer center, corporate headquarters, adjacent hotels, and new parking garage at our Corporate Headquarters in Carmel, Indiana. The Shuttle Bus Dispatcher duties include scheduling drivers, assigning routes, ensuring proper coverage to meet business requirements, and assisting record maintenance, accident reporting, and DOT compliance tasks.

We are hiring full-time and part-time dispatch positions.

A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is not required for this role but is preferred.

Pay for this position is $20 per hour with a full benefits package.

Responsibilities

At Republic Airways, you will be responsible for coordinating our Shuttle Buses on campus, providing transportation to and from off-site parking and between campus and off campus sites. This includes and is not limited to:

  • Scheduling drivers and maintaining proper coverage.
  • Communicate information and instructions to drivers (i.e., schedules, route changes, road conditions, accidents, emergencies, etc.) advising on a variety of situations that may impact scheduled transportation services.
  • Maintain driver work tickets and ensure they are available to driver with plenty of advance notice.
  • Receives and maintains all driver paperwork and files appropriately (fuel receipts, paper logs if needed, vehicle inspection reports).
  • Maintain driver time-off requests.
  • Monitors service for timeliness and consistency.
  • Assist Shuttle Bus Operations Manager with driver training, recruitment, and engagement.
  • Follow all company, DOT, OSHA, and other guidelines as required
  • May perform driver functions in certain situations.
  • Greeting all Team Members with appropriate greeting ("Good Morning", "Good Afternoon, "Good Evening").
  • Establishes and maintains clear communications with drivers and management team to ensure a consistent, superior level of customer service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years of age due to licensed driving requirements
  • Ability to communicate both verbal and written information to guests and drivers
  • Proven record of following state and federal motor vehicle regulations
  • Must meet Department of Transportation Physical Standards and Regulations
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, report to work regularly and on-time, and be self-motivated.
  • Must have knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
  • Must be flexible, during seasonal peak schedule changes and weekend work may occur
  • Experience in the use of computers and associated software (Microsoft Office Suite).

Preferred Experience & Certifications

  • 2 years' dispatch experience with a passenger transportation company
  • Commercial Driver's License (Indiana), Class A or B with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements and three (3) years of driving experience
  • DOT medical card
  • Will be required to undergo Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and random drug testing
