A Forklift Operator is responsible for accurately loading/unloading all freight, ingredients, raw materials and finished goods according to company policies as well as ensuring safe and efficient operation of machinery at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring Receiving procedures are implemented and continuously adhered to, per written receiving procedures.
  • Responsible for the daily monitoring of bulk ingredients (flour/sugar) levels as well as managing the silo rotation
  • Responsible for the rotation of raw materials in inventory to ensure inventory is used on a FIFO basis
  • Responsible for ensuring proper and accurate materials are delivered to the production department as needed in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with Receiving Supervisor &Supply Chain Manager as to the condition and quality of incoming materials and potential issues relating to performance of suppliers and/or carriers
  • Assist with inventory of finished goods and reconciling discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end inventory
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area at all times
  • Responsible for operating forklift and other machinery in a safe & professional manner
  • Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all contacts
  • Accept and adapt easily to change
  • Ensure that all activities are consistent with Company Mission Statement
  • Operate job-related equipment with or without an accommodation
