Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead our sales team and drive growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the lumber industry and a proven track record in sales management. Pay for this role: $125,000 per year depending on experience. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to grow the commercial division, expand market share, identify new business opportunities, and achieve company sales and profitability goals.
  • Meet or exceed established sales, margin, and profitability targets.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new commercial lumber, millwork, and building materials opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, developers, architects, and business partners to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and lead commercial sales and estimating teams while fostering a positive, performance-driven culture.
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure sales objectives, customer service expectations, and business goals are achieved.
  • Review and approve estimates, bids, and proposals to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability.
  • Manage commercial projects throughout the sales process to maintain margins, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Review, negotiate, and approve contracts in accordance with company policies and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with operations, purchasing, branch leadership, and other departments to support company objectives and successful project execution.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and business plans to support strategic decision-making and division growth.
  • Promote a positive, team-oriented culture focused on accountability, customer service, and business development.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial lumber, commercial millwork, or building materials sales required.
  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably within the lumber, millwork, or building materials industry.
  • Strong understanding of lumber products, market dynamics, customer needs, and commercial construction processes.
  • Demonstrated success in developing business, managing customer relationships, and achieving sales and profitability goals.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, motivate, and lead high-performing sales teams.
  • Experience with estimating, bidding, project management, and contract review preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and business development abilities.
  • Ability to think strategically, make sound business decisions, and act with an ownership mindset.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM or sales management software preferred.
