Job description

Warehouse Night Shift Position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Accurately pull stock from assigned warehouse areas according to customer orders.

· Use forklifts, order pickers, or other warehouse equipment when necessary and authorized.

· Assemble materials for customer deliveries in sequential order on the loading dock.

· Hand stack, palletize, and properly package merchandise for safe and secure shipment.

· Load semi-trucks, vans, and other delivery vehicles with building materials.

· Lift, pull, move, and load building materials into tractor trailers and delivery vehicles.

· Unload incoming merchandise and freight from common carriers or BMD vehicles.

· Verify incoming freight counts against packing lists and inspect for damaged goods.

· Restock merchandise and assist with maintaining accurate physical inventory in assigned areas.

· Prepare empty BMD vehicles for loading.

· Dock empty vehicles and remove merchandise, debris, and packing materials from vehicles and loading areas.

· Complete required paperwork to verify pick-ups, deliveries, receiving, and order accuracy.

· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area to help prevent accidents and allow for safe forklift movement.

· Follow all warehouse safety procedures, equipment guidelines, and company policies.

· Occasionally perform vehicle checks for safety purposes.

· Communicate with team members, leads, and the Warehouse Night Manager regarding order status, product issues, safety concerns, or workflow needs.

· Work overtime during peak business periods as needed.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Night Manager.

Qualifications

· Warehouse, distribution, shipping, receiving, or material handling experience preferred.

· Forklift or order picker experience preferred.

· Ability to work a night shift schedule, including 4-day, 10-hour shifts.

· Ability to work overtime during peak business periods as needed.

· Ability to accurately read orders, labels, packing lists, and basic warehouse documents.

· Ability to count, verify, and organize materials accurately.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Reliable attendance and punctuality.

· Experience handling building materials or large/heavy products is a plus.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active night shift warehouse position. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical requirements may include:

· Lifting, pulling, pushing, and moving building materials.

· Handling products that may range from approximately 10 pounds up to 300 pounds with proper equipment or team assistance.

· Standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying throughout the shift.

· Working around forklifts, trucks, trailers, warehouse equipment, and building materials.

· Working in a warehouse environment where temperature, noise, and activity levels may vary.
