Job description

TITLE: Maintenance Manager

 

POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position is responsible for managing the plant maintenance and projects in a cost effective and safe manner that will maximize equipment uptime. This position demands a strong background in plastic manufacturing, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and leadership skills.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8-10 years’ experience working in a manufacturing maintenance environment
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience
  • Strong background in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as machining experience
  • Strong background with PLC controls and variable speed drives.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, OSHA).
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Experience with process automation and robotics.
    • Familiarity with injection molding, extrusion, or blow molding processes.
    • Project management experience is a plus.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for supporting and following Safety Rules and Regulations
  • Supervise and manage Maintenance Department functions to support manufacturing of cast stretch film.
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
  • Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.
  • Review and track key KPI’s to meet Plant & Corporate goals including monthly production and equipment performance reports.
  • Develop training manuals for maintenance department.
  • Serves as the direct supervisor of maintenance technicians in approving timesheets, overtime & performance reviews.
  • Manages and implements capital projects.
  • Coordinates maintenance activities with production, plant office, and Shipping
  • Conducts engineering evaluations of contractors and vendors in regard to maintenance support
  • Maintains optimal level of maintenance and electronic parts
  • Ensures preventive maintenance schedules are met
  • Ensures mechanical and electrical technicians are properly trained
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Should be available for On-call as equipment issues arise after work hours.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, reports, and manuals.
  • Support the implementation of new technologies into product specification applications.
  • Manage spare stock purchasing & inventory and ordering parts. 
  • Maintain good housekeeping and 5S followed.
  • Coordinate with Scheduling and Production for scheduled P.M. and major repair.
  • Analyze product failure data in order to determine causes of problems and develop solutions.
  • Perform equipment abnormal analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Review, evaluate, accept, and coordinate completion of work bid from contractors.
  • Facilitate general building maintenance and repairs.
  • Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.

  • Able to lift up to 50lbs and repetitive action of lifting and bending
  • Must wear steel toe shoes and appropriate PPE on production floor all times
  • No shorts, jewelry and loose hanging clothes allowed
