We're opening a brand-new, large-scale early childhood center in Issaquah, WA and we're searching for an experienced, passionate Preschool Director to help us make it exceptional from day one.


This is a full-time, salaried leadership role serving infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children. If you're the kind of leader who thrives on challenge, energizes the people around you, and is deeply committed to high-quality early childhood education — we built this role for you.


As Director, you'll have the rare opportunity to shape a center's culture, systems, and team from the very beginning. You'll lead daily operations across all age groups, coach and inspire your staff, and create a warm, safe, and enriching environment where children flourish and families feel at home.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of early childhood education experience required
  • 1+ years of business management experience desirable
  • Experience with NAEYC accreditation preferred
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and customer service skills are required
  • Prior experience in launching a start up child care center is highly desirable


Educational Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or have all credentials required for the position of a Center Director per WAC .
  • Minimum two Plus(2) years of full-time experience in managing large (>150 capacity) center-based programs in a Center Director role.
  • A thorough knowledge of WA Licensing regulations (WACs) for childcare centers and a great understanding of developmentally appropriate practices
  • Child Development Site Supervisor Permit/ Program Director is desirable


Job Knowledge/Skills:

  • Responsible for accurate and updated record keeping of on-site teacher, child files, and DCYF Licensing documentation.
  • Computer skills-must be excellent and at a general business level that includes google workspace competence emails, sheets, slides, docs, met etc.
  • Management of CRM system, online application competence not limited to enrollment, attendance, daily logs, curriculum, child observations.
  • Ability to provide leadership, accept responsibility, work independently
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Strong management skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Experience or knowledge working at a start-up center is desirable but not required
  • Keeps inventory orders and purchases site supplies as needed
  • Provides developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities for children in accordance with Building kidz curriculum standards
  • Maintains and follows all health and safety practices in compliance with WA Licensing regulations (WACs) and early childhood education standards
  • Conducts and create agendas for site meetings, staff development and training for teachers
  • Manages all aspects of employee relations for all teaching staff and is directly involved with interviewing, hiring, and terminations.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday 40 or more hours per week and the ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously and able to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
