Job description

Job Responsibilities Do you like to be outside. Do you enjoy performing landscaping work. Do you like maintenance projects and working with your hands.

If so, joining our team as a Building Grounds Specialist could be the opportunity you have been looking for. Do you enjoy working outside and have experience in landscaping. Are you handy with tools and lawn equipment.

Are you skilled in building maintenance and repairs. If so, joining our team at the State Farmers Market (West Columbia) could be just the opportunity you have been looking for. As a Building Grounds Specialist your responsibilities will include: Performing landscaping on the Market grounds to include lawn mowing, trimming, and weeding.

Adhering to weekly and monthly maintenance schedules of equipment / facilities and maintaining accurate records of preventative maintenance. Assuring the general cleanliness of the market grounds, including cleaning restrooms, collecting and dumping trash and other debris. Assisting with light carpentry, plumbing, and other maintenance items.

Serving as part of the team to set-up, staff, and tear-down for special and seasonal events like Spring / Fall Plant and Flower Shows, car shows, tasting events, etc. Providing strong customer service to the general public. Minimum and Additional Requirements Trades experience that is directly related to the area of employment.

Valid driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle. Preferred Qualifications One or more years related experience. Experience with commercial grade landscaping and mowing equipment.

One or more experience with performing maintenance on lawn care equipment. Additional Comments Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold. Must have the ability to endure long periods of walking and standing.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must have reliable transportation to / from worksite. Must be able to climb steps and ladders, as well as occasionally work on elevated surfaces.

Ability to bend, kneel and stoop. 40-hour work week.
