A Building Code Official is a professional responsible for enforcing building codes and regulations to ensure that construction projects meet safety, health, and structural standards. They review building plans, issue permits, conduct inspections, and may investigate complaints about code violations. Their work helps protect the public by ensuring that all buildings and structures comply with local, state, and national building codes. Building Code Officials often work for local government agencies, such as city or county building departments.
