Description
As the New Home Construction Builder you must build strong, productive relationships with trade partners and all McKee Homes departments. As a McKee team member, the Builder is also responsible for providing a premier customer experience by planning, directing, and coordinating activities pertaining to the construction of homes in accordance with company policies and building code while staying on schedule and under budget. . You will work closely with the Area Construction Manager, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of construction activities. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail. This position seeks to provide incredible and unique customer service to home buyers.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain project schedules, and budgets.
- Communicate regularly with trade partners, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project timelines are met.
- Collaborate with the Area Construction Manager to track project progress and identify potential risks.
- Coordinate with inspectors to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
- Assist in the resolution of issues and challenges that arise during the construction process.
- Monitor project expenses and assist in budget tracking.
- Interprets specifications and company policies to trade partners and enforces safety regulations; analyzes and resolves worksite problems
- Inspects property and units under construction on a regular basis to ensure the work conforms to specifications, budget, and schedule
- Regularly communicates with the sales team regarding construction status and any issues
- Maintains the upkeep and cleanliness of standing inventory homes and lawns, as well as any shared community space managed by McKee Homes
- Reviews and approves all invoices as necessary
- Maintain documentation in systems as required
- Walk homebuyers through pre-construction, pre-drywall, and pre-close orientations and communicate required information effectively
- Responsible for coordinating with homeowners and trade partners to ensure warranty tickets within assigned communities are resolved and closed in accordance with company policies and required timelines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a construction site environment. This role is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
TRAVEL
Travel is expected for this position, mostly within a few hours driving distance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Previous experience in construction project coordination or a related role is preferred.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Driver's License required
- Reliable vehicle with minimum state required insurance required
