Job description

As Director of Building Automation, you will define and govern automation strategy for OCI's global data center portfolio. This role sets standards and direction for BMS, controls architecture, cybersecurity, and analytics that underpin safe and efficient operations at scale.  This role oversees the execution of organizational strategy around evaluating scoped sites against Oracle's requirements for data centers. Ensures implementation organizational collaboration strategy with multidisciplinary internal and external teams to design the power, cooling, and air flow designs for the data center infrastructure. Supervises the execution of organizational processes around failure analyses and responses to emergencies. Manages the implementation of assessment processes for data center infrastructure and for the evaluation of plans provided by the Build and Engineering Services (BES) team. Ensures the implementation of organizational strategy around determining cooling requirements and architectural tradeoffs to ensure the white space design meets their requirements to manage variables such as heat, humidity, and air flow. Influences organizational research goals around innovative new data center designs, materials, and/or methods.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $146,300 to $306,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position.   • Lead strategy and standards for BMS, DCIM, and automation systems across the fleet.  
  • Oversee design, integration, and commissioning of major automation and controls initiatives.  
  • Define alarm philosophy, controls architecture, and cybersecurity requirements for OT systems.  
  • Drive adoption of smart building technologies, analytics, and digital twin capabilities.  
  • Manage vendors and develop technical talent; champion continuous improvement. 


Ideal Candidate Profile  

  • Extensive experience in controls engineering, automation strategy, or mission-critical facility automation leadership.  
  • Deep knowledge of BMS/SCADA/DCS platforms, multi-vendor environments, and standards development. 


Skills and Competencies  

  • Visionary technical leadership with strong execution discipline.  
  • Ability to align engineering, IT, security, and operations around common standards.
