As an integral member of our Paving Team, the Shuttle Buggy Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating the shuttle buggy to support continuous, high-quality asphalt paving operations. • Assist with lubrication and fueling of the paver and shuttle buggy.
  • Set up the paver for operation at the beginning of each paving activity, making necessary adjustments to meet laydown specifications.
  • Monitor the flow of asphalt into the paver hopper and ensure proper alignment and consistent travel during paving operations.
  • Safely operate the shuttle buggy around personnel, curbs, structures, and other equipment to prevent accidents and property damage.
  • Clean and maintain the shuttle buggy at the end of each shift.
  • Work extended or night shifts as required by project schedules.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to follow instructions and operate fixed gauges and instruments with proper interpretation.
  • Understanding of asphalt paving operations and equipment functions.
  • Good communication and situational awareness to ensure safe operations around other personnel and equipment.

Experience and Training:
  • 1 to 3 years of experience operating paving equipment, including shuttle buggies or similar machinery.
  • Familiarity with asphalt paving procedures and laydown specifications preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to climb onto and off of machinery safely.
  • Manual dexterity to grasp, push, and pull control levers, requiring repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motion.
  • Sensitivity to touch and pressure to properly control machine operations.
  • Ability to detect and differentiate equipment noises that may indicate mechanical issues.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and perceive sounds and instructions in a noisy environment.

Responsibility and Accountability:
