Job description

Quality Engineer
This position will assume the following responsibilities:
- Maintain the Quarantine Cage inventory
- Initiate, investigate, answer, and verify Customer NCRs
- Generate reports and lead weekly PQPT Meeting
- Initiate, investigate, and verify In-Process NCRs
- Initiate, investigate, and verify Vendor NCRs
- Initiate and verify dispositions (including RFDs)
- Initiate and type up FAIs
- Initiate and carry out MSAs
- Initiate and enter Capability Studies
- Respond to customer inquiries and complaints
- Generate and maintain PFMEAs
- Generate and maintain IMDS
- Generate Bubble Prints
- Generate PSWs
- Assemble material and post-processing certifications
- Initiate, monitor, and verify Safe Launch Concept
- Generate and maintain control plans and check sheets
- Generate, monitor, and verify ongoing SPC
- Lead Contract Review and APQP Process for new/potential products
- Review Customer Prints
- Participate in Feasibility Assessment
- Ensure Customer Requirements are understood and reflected in our system
- Works on and monitors Continual Improvement Projects
- Maintains Standards (ASTM, ISO, Customer, etc.) to current versions
- Assemble PPAP Packages including Annual Revalidation PPAPs
- Process Engineering Change Notifications
Background
• BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
• 3-5 years Automotive manufacturing experience
• Strong understanding of GD&T
• IATF 16949:2016 Auditor certified (Preferred)
• VDA 6.3 Auditor certified (Preferred)
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (Preferred)
• Familiarity with AIAG Tools (FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, etc.) (Required)
• Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access
