CARPENTER

BTL Technologies, Inc.

Location: Dallas VA Medical Center, 4500 S. Lancaster Rd., Dallas, TX 75216
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Federal Holidays Excluded)
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract Assignment
Contract Duration: Approximately through 8/3/2027
Hours: 80 Hours Per Pay Period

Position Summary

BTL is seeking experienced Carpenters to support the Dallas VA Medical Center facility operations and construction projects throughout the medical campus. The selected individuals will perform a broad range of carpentry, construction, maintenance, and renovation activities in occupied healthcare environments. This role requires skilled trades professionals who can safely perform construction, repair, installation, and maintenance work while complying with OSHA, VA, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct, modify, and repair walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, doors, and windows.
  • Install and finish drywall systems and partitions.
  • Install doors, frames, locks, strike plates, and associated hardware.
  • Install ceiling systems, floor coverings, carpet, and related finishes.
  • Build concrete forms for sidewalks, curbs, and steps.
  • Fabricate and install cabinets, shelving, furniture, workbenches, bulletin boards, and specialty fixtures.
  • Work with laminates, Formica, paneling, and finish materials.
  • Complete daily work assignments provided by the VA Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
  • Document completed work and maintain daily time records.
  • Follow all safety regulations and wear required PPE.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience as a commercial or institutional carpenter.
  • OSHA Certification (required).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Experience with drywall, framing, finish carpentry, flooring, and door installation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to successfully complete any required background investigation and VA onboarding requirements -a Real ID (Texas REAL ID | Texas.gov) or unexpired U.S. Passport required to move through the background investigation and onboarding process
  • Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship

Required Personal Protective Equipment

  • Employees must provide and wear:
  • Arc-rated or natural-fiber long pants and long-sleeved shirts
  • OSHA-approved steel-toe work boots
  • Hearing protection
  • Eye protection

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Wage: $23.28 per hour
Health & Welfare Benefit: $5.09 per hour (used to offset monthly health insurance premiums, or deposited into the Team Member’s 401a account)

Total Compensation Value: $28.37 per hour
