How much do arrt jobs pay per week?

As of Jun 26, 2026, the average weekly pay for arrt in the United States is $1,830.69, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $1,153.85 and $2,394.23 per week, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Arrt position, and why are they important?

To thrive as an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) credentialed technologist, you need a solid background in medical imaging, anatomy, and patient care, supported by completion of an accredited radiologic technology program and ARRT certification. Familiarity with imaging equipment such as X-ray, CT, or MRI machines, as well as hospital information and PACS systems, is essential. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to reassure and instruct patients are vital soft skills in this environment. These abilities ensure patient safety, accurate diagnostic results, and efficient collaboration within healthcare teams.

How much do 2 year rad techs make?

Radiologic technologists with two years of experience typically earn between $45,000 and $60,000 annually, depending on location, workplace, and certifications. Salary can increase with additional skills, specializations, and ongoing education in imaging modalities like MRI or CT.

Can you get an ARRT without a degree?

To become registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as an radiologic technologist, including ARRT certification, applicants typically need to complete an accredited educational program, which usually includes earning a degree or certificate in radiologic technology. While some states or employers may accept alternative pathways, most ARRT certification requirements specify completion of an approved program that results in a degree or equivalent credential. Practical skills, clinical experience, and passing the ARRT exam are also required for certification.

What are some of the most common challenges ARRT-credentialed technologists face in their daily work?

ARRT-credentialed technologists often navigate the challenge of balancing patient comfort with the need for precise positioning and image quality, sometimes in fast-paced or high-stress situations. They may also need to stay updated with advancements in imaging technology and adapt quickly to new protocols or equipment. Additionally, technologists must maintain strict adherence to safety standards to minimize radiation exposure to themselves and their patients. Collaborating effectively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals is crucial to ensure optimal patient outcomes. These challenges make the role both dynamic and highly rewarding for those who enjoy problem-solving and working in a team-oriented clinical setting.

What is an ARRT job?

An ARRT job refers to a position held by a radiologic technologist certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). These professionals perform medical imaging procedures like X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans to assist doctors in diagnosing and treating patients. They must meet ARRT certification requirements, including education, ethics, and examination standards. Many employers prefer or require ARRT certification as a mark of competency and professionalism in the imaging field.

What else can I do with a radiology degree?

A radiology degree can lead to careers such as radiologic technologist, MRI technologist, or radiation therapist. It also provides a foundation for advanced roles in medical imaging, healthcare administration, or further education in radiology specialties, often requiring additional certifications or training.

What is the highest paying radiography job?

The highest paying radiography-related roles are often specialized positions such as radiologist assistants, nuclear medicine technologists, or radiology managers, which require advanced certifications and experience. Radiologists, who are medical doctors specializing in imaging interpretation, typically earn the highest salaries in the field of medical imaging, often exceeding $300,000 annually. These roles involve extensive training, including medical school and residency, and often command higher compensation due to their advanced expertise and responsibilities.
