How much do arrt jobs pay per week?

As of Jul 16, 2026, the average weekly pay for arrt in the United States is $1,830.69, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $1,153.85 and $2,394.23 per week, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Arrt position, and why are they important?

To thrive as an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) credentialed technologist, you need a solid background in medical imaging, anatomy, and patient care, supported by completion of an accredited radiologic technology program and ARRT certification. Familiarity with imaging equipment such as X-ray, CT, or MRI machines, as well as hospital information and PACS systems, is essential. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to reassure and instruct patients are vital soft skills in this environment. These abilities ensure patient safety, accurate diagnostic results, and efficient collaboration within healthcare teams.

What jobs can you get with an ARRT degree?

An ARRT certification qualifies individuals for roles such as radiologic technologist, radiographer, MRI technologist, CT technologist, and mammographer. These positions involve operating imaging equipment, capturing diagnostic images, and working in hospitals, clinics, or diagnostic labs, often requiring knowledge of patient care and imaging protocols.

What is the highest paying job in radiology tech?

The highest paying roles for radiology technologists typically include specialized positions such as radiology manager, radiology supervisor, or advanced practitioners like radiologist assistants, which often require additional certifications and experience. These roles involve leadership, advanced imaging techniques, or management responsibilities, leading to higher salaries within the radiology field.

What degree do you need for an ARRT?

To become registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as an ARRT professional, you need to complete an accredited radiologic technology program and earn an associate's or bachelor's degree in radiologic sciences or a related field. Additionally, candidates must pass the ARRT certification exam to become credentialed. Some states or employers may have specific educational or licensing requirements beyond the ARRT certification.

What are some of the most common challenges ARRT-credentialed technologists face in their daily work?

ARRT-credentialed technologists often navigate the challenge of balancing patient comfort with the need for precise positioning and image quality, sometimes in fast-paced or high-stress situations. They may also need to stay updated with advancements in imaging technology and adapt quickly to new protocols or equipment. Additionally, technologists must maintain strict adherence to safety standards to minimize radiation exposure to themselves and their patients. Collaborating effectively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals is crucial to ensure optimal patient outcomes. These challenges make the role both dynamic and highly rewarding for those who enjoy problem-solving and working in a team-oriented clinical setting.

What is an ARRT job?

An ARRT job refers to a position held by a radiologic technologist certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). These professionals perform medical imaging procedures like X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans to assist doctors in diagnosing and treating patients. They must meet ARRT certification requirements, including education, ethics, and examination standards. Many employers prefer or require ARRT certification as a mark of competency and professionalism in the imaging field.

What is the highest paying job in radiography?

The highest paying roles in radiography are often specialized positions such as radiology managers, nuclear medicine technologists, or interventional radiology technologists, with salaries exceeding $80,000 annually. Advanced certifications, extensive experience, and working in specialized or urban healthcare facilities can lead to higher compensation in radiography careers.
