Position Summary

SOKOL GxP Services is seeking an experienced, hands-on Field Service Manager to lead our controlled-environment certification operations across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York.

This role combines technical field service, team leadership, regional operations, and customer relationship management. The successful candidate will perform and oversee biological safety cabinet and cleanroom certification, HEPA filter integrity testing, airflow studies, environmental monitoring, troubleshooting, repair, and other contamination-control services while leading a regional team of field-service technicians.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on experience with biological safety cabinets, cleanrooms, HEPA-filtered systems, airflow testing, and related controlled-environment technologies. Current or former NSF/ANSI 49 Biosafety Cabinet Field Certifier accreditation is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Services

  • Perform and oversee biological safety cabinet (BSC), cleanroom, laminar airflow workbench, and fume hood certifications.
  • Conduct HEPA filter integrity testing, airflow visualization (smoke studies), airflow measurements, room pressurization testing, and environmental monitoring.
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and certification of controlled-environment equipment.
  • Ensure all work complies with NSF/ANSI 49, ISO 14644, USP <797>, USP <800>, and company quality standards.

Operations & Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop field-service technicians.
  • Coordinate schedules, travel, workload, and equipment.
  • Maintain calibration records, certifications, inventory, and service documentation.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Customer Relations

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for clients.
  • Resolve technical issues and customer escalations.
  • Review certification reports and ensure timely, accurate deliverables.
  • Build strong client relationships through responsive, high-quality service.

Business Development

  • Support proposal preparation, technical consultations, and project planning.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services with existing and new clients.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new technical staff.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in biological safety cabinet (BSC) certification, cleanroom certification, or controlled-environment testing.
  • Strong knowledge of HEPA filter integrity testing, airflow measurements, environmental monitoring, and calibration.
  • Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing controlled-environment equipment.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop field-service technicians.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, with occasional overnight travel.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current or former NSF/ANSI 49 Accredited Biosafety Cabinet Field Certifier.
  • Experience with ISO 14644, USP <797>, USP <800>, and Annex 1.
  • Experience with airflow visualization (smoke studies), laminar airflow workbenches, and fume hoods.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or other regulated environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience).
