Job description

Job Summary

A Bru Bar Barista is responsible for promoting coffee consumption by educating customers and preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries and other baked goods. The Bru Bar also serves a variety of beer, wine, and liquor. Position anticipated to start late April or early May.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers and determine their food and drink interests and needs.
  • Educate customers by presenting and explaining the drink menu and answering questions.
  • Prepare and sell coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques, such as espresso, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
  • Generate revenue by attracting new customers and offering additional products.
  • Maintain inventories of coffee bean supply, coffee brewing equipment, pastries and other food items, and other supplies.
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and reporting needed repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
  • Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes, implementing changes, and maintaining and improving the appearance of the coffee bar.
  • Other duties as assigned.
