Job description


The City of Suwanee is seeking Poll Officials (poll workers) for the November 3, 2026 election cycle. This includes Advanced Voting beginning October 13 through Election Day on November 3rd. Poll Official training will be held on September 23, 2026.


Per the Georgia Election Law, the City of Suwanee is required to have Spanish speaking poll officials. Please indicate on your application if you fluently speak Spanish or any other language.


General Qualifications: (OCGA 21-2-92)

  • US Citizen
  • Resident of Gwinnett County
  • 16 years of age or older
  • Able to read, write and speak the English Language
  • Completed any sentence(s) imposed for any prior felony conviction(s) at least 10 years ago.
  • A poll official is not eligible to run for public office and cannot hold a public office.
  • Cannot be related to a person on the ballot (i.e., parent, spouse, child, brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law or sister-in-law, etc.).
  • Able to work Advanced Voting 8:30 am - 5:30 pm (3 weeks).
  • Able to work Election Day 6:00 am until closing procedures are completed.
  • Must attend Poll Official Training scheduled for September 23rd.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.


Compensation:

  • Early Voting $15.00 hourly (3 weeks)
  • Election Day ranges from $225 - $300 for the day
