Job description
Brookfield Renewable is recruiting for seasonal Park Stewards to support Falls View Park on a 6-month contract. The Park Stewards provide a vigilant set of eyes for BRP as to proper use of the park, as well as limited details about the site's history and genesis.
Responsibilities:
  • Presents limited and repetitive pre-established talks including introductions to community program, films, map talks, and static exhibit interpretation.
  • Answer visitor inquiries and provides public information
  • Show visitors through the building/site, telling the story of events which took place here, and how those events related to the particular historic situation. Provides information on a variety of subjects and interprets park values for visitors with varying interests and backgrounds. Provides visitors with information on park related activities, services, and park themes.
  • Facilitates visitor understanding and enjoyment of the park
  • Facilitates visitor compliance consistent with resource protection efforts
  • Encourages park visitors to develop a sense of stewardship of Park resources
  • Incumbent will be responsible for overseeing daily park operations, protecting resources and maintaining visitor use areas.
  • Assists with program administration, including record-keeping and correspondence. Works well with members of other divisions and is flexible and able to respond positively to changes in schedules and duties due to emergencies or other contingencies
  • Assists the public with questions/concerns

Qualifications:
  • Desired candidate must be approachable, friendly, ability to deal with the public and willing to appropriately address any issues that may arise in confines of the park
  • Self-starter, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
  • Strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast- paced team environment and to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Must make safety the highest priority in performing all work activities
  • Pre-employment drug testing required.

Pay: $20.00/hr.
