Summary
Open position for TA in Infant classroom. Applicant must be available to work between hours of 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Position would be for 29.5 hours per week.
The teaching assistant will work closely with the lead teacher in conducting daily duties such as preparing and serving meals, changing diapers, assisting with daily reports, recording attendance, engaging in play, assisting to put children to sleep, and creating a safe environment.
Qualification
โ€ข High School diploma required
โ€ข Prefer applicant to have CDA or Associates in Early Childhood
โ€ข Must have a clear BCSC criminal background check
โ€ข Applicant must be willing to have TB testing, drug screening, digital fingerprinting, and submit a health physical upon employment
โ€ข Applicant must agree to attend CPR/First Aid training
Physical and mental demands, work hazards:
โ€ข Position may require lifting 50 lbs
โ€ข Requires standing possibly 90% of hours worked
โ€ข Moving between sitting and standing frequently while playing with the children
Essential Job Functions:
  • Providing support for the lead teacher.
  • Assisting the lead teacher in planning, scheduling and implementing the daily program of appropriate developmental experiences for a classroom group of children
  • Monitoring and supervising the children.
  • Assisting the lead teacher in maintaining a safe and positive environment.
  • Cultivating relationships with children, parents, and guardians
  • Preparing and serving meals and snacks
  • Adhering to diaper changing procedures
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences, workshops and other career development and professional activities
  • Complete continuing education hours per State requirements each year
  • Maintain a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere for staff and children
