Position Summary: Valor Academy High School is seeking qualified and enthusiastic Coaches to lead and oversee all aspects of the varsity sports program for each team listed below. The coach will be responsible for developing student-athletes both on and off the court by promoting athletic excellence, academic achievement, leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The successful candidate will create a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment that supports the educational mission of the school and athletic department.

The 2026 Fall season begins July 7, 2026. Valor Academy High School is currently recruiting head coaches for the following sports:ย 

  • Head Coach - Girls Flag Football

What Youโ€™ll Do:

Program Leadership
  • Organize, coordinate, and supervise all aspects of the specific sports program.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive program philosophy that promotes skill development, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
  • Establish team expectations and maintain high standards of conduct for student-athletes.
  • Foster a positive team culture that encourages respect, accountability, and personal growth.

Family and Athlete Communication:ย 

  • Complete a 1-page syllabus for your sport delineating the expectations for try-outs, practice, and game day within a week of being hired, and execute the expectations to the best of your ability (sample template will be provided)
  • Create and share a color-coded monthly practice schedule for players and families (Team Managers can be used for this task; a sample template will be provided)
  • Share communication with families and players at the beginning of each week via ParentSquare (a sample template will be provided)
  • Share team highlights and/or scores with the Rise Kohyang High community (e.g. Instagram post, Parent Square) a minimum of twice per week during the entirety of the season (Team Managers can be used for this task)

Collaboration within the Athletic Department:ย 

  • Attend a bi-weekly meeting with the Athletic Director to review goals and objectives for the month ahead (time will also be allotted to complete the essential duties bulleted in the Job Description)

Management, coaching, and mentoring of team and players:

  • Attend all scheduled practicesย 
  • Attend all scheduled games
  • Attend end of year sports banquetย 
  • Adhere to guidance from Athletics Director concerning which players are eligible to play, based on grades, behavior, and other factors determined in advanceย 
Coaching and Athlete Development
  • Plan and conduct effective practices focused on skill development, conditioning, strategy, and team play.
  • Teach sport specific fundamentals.
  • Evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback to support improvement.
  • Develop game strategies and make appropriate in-game adjustments.
  • Promote year-round skill development and encourage participation in offseason training opportunities.
Student-Athlete Support
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor for student-athletes.
  • Encourage academic achievement and monitor student-athlete eligibility requirements.
  • Support the social, emotional, and personal development of team members.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles, good sportsmanship, and respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and spectators.

Working Conditions
