Job description

Mid-Continental Restoration in Omaha, NE is accepting applications for Journeyman level bricklayers looking to expand their knowledge in restoration and repair.

  • Journeyman Scale: $33/hr. plus applicable per diems and travel reimbursements 

Mid-Continental Restoration Co., Inc. is a leading contractor in exterior building repair, restoration, waterproofing and masonry. Founded in 1946 and headquartered in Fort Scott, Kansas, we are 100% Employee Owned and have offices strategically located to serve the Midwest from North Dakota to Texas. We have established a reputation of professionalism by developing some of the finest craftsmen in the trade who have been delivering on-time execution of commercial repair projects for over 80 years.

Job Summary

Skillfully and safely performs work scopes required in the specialty trade of exterior building repair and concrete restoration.

  • Travels throughout territory to assigned projects
  • Maintains own supply of hand tools associated with the trade
  • Operates variety of power tools including high speed grinders and impact hammers
  • Understands and follows MCR and OSHA safety policies and applicable laws
  • Achieves production rates and quality standards as set forth by the industry and MCR
  • Works high above the ground from a variety of scaffolding, lifts and rooftops
  • Competent in the erection and rigging of scaffolding and staging equipment
  • Uses measuring tape accurately to the nearest fraction of an inch
  • Possesses knowledge of acids, detergents and other trade related chemicals

  • Mixing mortars including those for historic building repairs
  • Mortar removal
  • Tuckpointing

  • Stone removal
  • Stone laying

  • Joint preparation
  • Caulking and tooling sealants per manufacturer's specs
  • Lintel removal and replacement
  • Thru-wall flashing removal and replacement

  • Terra Cotta repair
  • Terra Cotta replacement
  • High and low pressure water cleaning
  • Sandblasting
  • Painting
  • Masonry patching
  • Concrete demo
