POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for safely preparing food items, following menu specifications and standard recipes, for service to guests in all outlets, while maintaining the standards of the Family Style Service Program. This employee must strive for the highest possible standards of food preparation and presentation in each food outlet.
Responsibilities
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following statements are intended as general examples of the duties of this position and are not all-inclusive.
  • Provides superior guest service, positively affects interactions with guests and team members, and has the resilience to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and the ability to work effectively and courteously with fellow team members.
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment including but not limited to slicer, steamer, deep fryer, ovens, broiler, grill, mixer, kettle, combi-oven, dicing machine and griddles.
  • Actively participates with staff to cook, prepare, dish-up and assemble food in all outlets.
  • Promotes positive kitchen activity and reports inappropriate activity to the Chef or Lead on duty.
  • Must be able to maintain health department standards, which includes dates on products, product rotation, proper food temperatures, and overall food quality and appearance.
  • Prepares all food items according to standard recipes and menu to ensure consistency of product to the guest.
  • Ability to submit recipes and menu input as directed by kitchen management.
  • Ability to work fast paced with a sense of urgency.
  • Be a customer experience owner, act in ways that will surprise and delight our guests. Leave guests with positive feelings about our property and establish/maintain relationships with them. Approach each situation with a "yes we can" attitude, every guest every time.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment.
  • Ability to work all shifts as business warrants.
  • Must wear black, slip resistant shoes, and be in proper uniform at all times. Clean and professional appearance.
  • Knowledge and demonstration of workplace safety procedures Completes all company-required training within designated time frames.
  • Comply with our drug & alcohol-free workplace. Subject to post offer, for cause and post-accident drug tests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, food preparation equipment, sanitation equipment and chemicals.
  • Walking/Standing 100% of which 10% is bending/lifting (overhead up to 50lbs repetitively and push/pull 450 lbs. on a wheeled cart, and 200lbs as a team)
  • Ability to be at work on time as scheduled on a regular basis which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Report to work in a neat and clean uniform. Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
  • To encourage and abide by all health codes and hand washing guidelines

Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to read, write, basic math skills and communicate effectively in order to read recipes, training documents, warning labels on equipment and chemicals, and communicate with other employees.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Cooper County Health Certification Card
  • High School diploma or GED is preferred.
  • One year of food service experience is required.
  • Ability to work on production line in ala carte or batch cooking style.
  • Must work as a Prep Cook or equivalent work experience.
