Job description

Breast Imaging Technologist

Job Summary

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the breast imaging department, including scheduling, staffing, and patient flow.
  2. Ensure efficient and effective delivery of imaging services while maintaining high standards of patient care.
  3. Supervise and support breast imaging staff, including technologists and administrative personnel.
  4. Implement and monitor departmental policies and procedures to align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  5. Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance evaluations for breast imaging staff.
  6. Coordinate training and continuing education programs to ensure staff maintain certifications and stay updated on best practices.
  7. Facilitate staff meetings and promote open communication to address concerns and foster a collaborative environment.
  8. Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of qualified personnel.
  9. Ensure compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA), American College of Radiology (ACR), and other regulatory bodies.
  10. Oversee and participate in quality control processes, including image reviews, equipment maintenance, and performance testing.
  11. Maintain accurate documentation for accreditation, audits, and regulatory inspections.
  12. Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and service quality.
  13. Ensure a patient-centered approach to breast imaging, prioritizing comfort, privacy, and timely care.
  14. Address patient concerns and collaborate with the patient care team to ensure a seamless experience.
  15. Support patient education and ensure clear communication regarding imaging procedures and follow-up care.
  16. Serve as a liaison between patients, technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  17. Maintain accurate records related to staff schedules, patient imaging, and quality assurance activities.
  18. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other confidentiality regulations.
  19. Assist in budget management, including monitoring expenses and resource allocation.
  20. Prepare reports on departmental performance, including patient volumes, quality metrics, and operational efficiencies.
  21. Work closely with the Director of Breast and Women's Health to develop and implement new services and technologies.
  22. Collaborate with radiologists to optimize imaging protocols and improve diagnostic accuracy.
  23. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to strategic planning for breast imaging services.
  24. Support community outreach programs and breast health awareness initiatives.

Work Schedule: Part Time. 64 Hours Biweekly. Part Time. This is position is located in Lake City.

Education/Qualifications:

  • BLS Certification Required (American Heart Association)
  • Graduate of Accredited Associate Program and ARRT Registry Eligible
  • SC Full License Required
