JOB DESCRIPTION

General Description: Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional breakfast experience for all our guests. Each server’s primary objective is to provide our guests with hospitality that ‘fills the soul’


Activities & Responsibilities:

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with objectives of OEB Breakfast Co.
  • Monitor and observe guest dining experiences to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service and respond promptly and courteously to correct and address and problems.
  • Collect payments form guests.
  • Take and enter guests orders into computers or tablets for transmittal to the culinary team.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests.
  • Check guests’ identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Serve food or beverages to guests.
  • Present menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
  • Inform guests of menu changes, chef specials, and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
  • Clean tables after guests have finished dining.
  • Prepare and serve hot, cold, and mixed drinks to guests.
  • Roll cutlery, set up and maintain side stations.
  • Stock server stations with supplies such as coffee, glasses, rollups, plates etc. and maintain throughout the day.
  • Explain to guests how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
  • Remove dishes and glasses from tables or bar top and take to dish for cleaning.
  • Assist at front door by answering phone to take reservations or to-go orders, and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests.
  • Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, tidying up server station, taking out trash, and checking and cleaning washrooms.
  • Escort guests to their table.
  • Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, and condiments.
