Job Description: Velocity Architecture & Engineering DPC, a company of BRAVO Group, has an opening for an experienced Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to contribute to public sector projects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop plumbing and fire protection specifications, system narratives, and system layouts for a variety of project types and sizes, with a focus on education and transit sectors.
  • Establishes system application, design criteria, and operational parameters independently, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and performance standards.
  • Performs hydraulic calculations; sizes and selects fire protection equipment; and layouts sprinkler and standpipe systems.
  • Performs storm, hot water, domestic water, and gas load calculations; sizes and selects plumbing equipment; and layouts plumbing systems.
  • Leads coordination of plumbing and fire protection systems within multidisciplinary teams to ensure fully integrated design solutions.
  • Participates in and supports the QA/QC process through technical review of drawings, calculations, and specifications prior to submission.
  • Performs construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects, including site visits, responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and preparing detailed field reports.
Minimum Requirements:
  • At least ten (10) years of experience within a consulting or design-build firm
  • Knowledge of New York State and New York City building codes, and NFPA standards.
  • Ability to think critically and assess each project, including staff allocation, independently with only high-level guidance from senior leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Latest AutoCAD experience required, REVIT experience a plus.
  • Capable of using standard Microsoft Office software such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Experience with NYC public agencies is strongly preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in New York is required.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field. #LI-Onsite

$140,000—$180,000 USD
