Job Description

THETEAM is looking for a motivated individual to join the the Strategy & Consulting team on the American Express account. The role will be a key player in supporting the day-to-day management of select partnerships, strategizing integrated marketing programs across social, digital and experiential, as well as supporting broader strategic initiatives across the business. This position is responsible for leading, developing and managing a variety of current and prospective business relationships, sponsorships, and other partnerships to ensure client satisfaction.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with the Senior Director to lead the account team to deliver first class client service and delivery

  • Serves as the client's primary day-to-day point of contact, proactively anticipating client needs and diligently managing action items.

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with relevant stakeholders and business units, both within the client and among third parties.

  • Provides senior guidance on POV and intelligence deliverables.

  • Campaign Management - Oversee and ensure successful delivery of client campaigns - campaign planning, resourcing, multi-stakeholder management, rights delivery, reporting.

  • Synthesize data and research findings across and among various custom and syndicated sources to build influential storylines and presentations (e.g. strategic plans, market landscapes, valuations, etc.)

  • Understands the client context at a fundamental level to be able to make strategic recommendations on sponsorship partners, contractual assets, and new opportunities.

  • Proactively identifies opportunities to provide additional services to clients as well as new partnership and platform ideas that fit brand objectives and marketing principles.

  • Ensure that the day-to-day management of the account continues to function seamlessly from a top-down/bottom-up perspective.

  • Leads between 1-3 junior staff as needed on a project-by-project basis.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.

  • 7+ years of relevant experience with a minimum of 3 years of direct experience in account and project management (preferably in the financial services category managing e-commerce platforms within sports and entertainment).

  • Experience in managing and supporting strategic alliances and/or marketing partnerships in a Fortune 500 setting

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

  • Highly organized with obsessive attention to detail.

  • Well-developed analytical capabilities, particularly in valuing and measuring sponsorships.

  • Superior interpersonal skills for the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of client relationships.

  • Able to plan and execute projects with minimal direction and a high level of initiative, working well independently and in a team environment.

  • Strategically minded with strong problem-solving skills and an ability to synthesize large amounts of data while considering program needs and budget parameters.

  • Effective negotiation skills and familiarity with the contractual language.

  • Working knowledge of project management fundamentals, including supervision of and delegation to multiple direct reports.

  • Must be able to multi-task and be flexible enough to react competently under challenging circumstances.

  • High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel for deck development and data management.

Base salary range: $115k - $140k, plus bonus potential if applicable for role.
Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each role.
