Job Summary:

Compensation: $95,000 - $110,000 + bonus

The Branch Sales Manager is tasked with identifying prospective customers, fostering and maintaining mutually beneficial business relationships, and driving both sales and profitability for the branch. Success in this role involves developing and training a cohesive team that embodies and supports IDI’s culture and Core Values, ensuring the branch operates efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Sales Growth and Customer Retention:

  • Primary responsibility is the profitable growth of IDI sales, focusing on both top-line and bottom-line growth
  • Retain current customers while developing new ones, ensuring profitable growth and excellent customer service

Branch Oversight and Employee Management:

  • Oversee branch operations, including safety, inventories, turnover, and employee retention
  • Develop and mentor all branch personnel, including Sales, DC Manager, Drivers, and operations staff, with a focus on long-term retention and fostering a customer service culture

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed and in full compliance with corporate directives
  • Deploy training programs for safety, customer service, and product knowledge

Financial Management:

  • Conduct annual sales forecasting and budgeting, as well as monthly P&L reviews with the Regional Director

Training and Supervision:

  • Assure proper training of all staff and provide direct supervision of the DC Manager and Sales Representatives

Inventory Management:

  • Manage inventory, including branch inventory turn, weekly, monthly, and annual inventory counts, and limit dead inventory

Corporate Liaison:

  • Act as a liaison between the branch and corporate office, fully executing all corporate directives

Branch Presence and Additional Duties:

  • Maintain an active role in the overall health and strength of the branch office
  • Perform other duties as beneficial to IDI

Qualifications/Skills:

Sales and Business Development:

  • Proven results in the sale of building materials
  • Ability to develop new business
  • Ability to meet deadlines and achieve sales goals

Relationship Building:

  • Ability to build long-lasting relationships with vendors, customers, and sales staff

Planning and Organizational Skills:

  • Strong planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strategic planning, sales management, negotiation, and vendor management experience

Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Attention to Detail:

  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to focus on individual and team goals

Travel:

  • Ability to travel less than 10% of the time

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent related experience
  • 5+ years in sales, with a preference for experience in insulation or building materials
