As this portfolio continues to evolve, Brain Health represents a critical enterprise platform to align scientific ambition, stakeholder engagement, employee engagement and long-term patient impact.
The Corporate Affairs Organization is seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Director for our Brain Health initiative, an enterprise-wide project, to play a critical leadership role in shaping and advancing BMS long-term approach to brain health. This is a high-visibility role focused on defining, positioning, and activating a differentiated Brain Health platform at a pivotal moment for the company.
Operating in an ambiguous, early-stage environment, the Director will co-develop enterprise strategy and programming while translating insight into a compelling enterprise narrative and actionable execution plan. This role requires a strong marketing and communications mindset, creative thinking, and the ability to craft clear storytelling that unifies and amplifies BMS's commitment to brain health internally and externally while also driving execution with urgency, rigor, and discipline.
The Director will lead the strategic framing, and coordination of a cohesive Brain Health strategy and programming, ensuring strong cross-functional collaboration and alignment across the enterprise and geographies. As the orchestration lead, this individual will manage complex interdependencies, collaborate across multiple functions, and lead internal teams and external partners to deliver against clear milestones, timelines, and outcomes. Ensuring connectivity, transparency, and momentum will be central to success in this role.
This is a hands-on leadership role that balances vision with execution, shaping what BMS stands for in Brain Health and ensuring how it is brought to life globally, with meaningful and lasting patient impact.
The Director, Brain Health reports to the Executive Director, Head of Brain Health.

- Identify, engage, and oversee external agencies, vendors, and consultants, ensuring high-quality deliverables, clear accountability, and effective use of resources
- Translate strategy into executable plans, managing multiple workstreams, timelines, interdependencies, and deliverables to ensure progress and impact
- Drive initiatives forward with urgency, rigor, and ownership, maintaining momentum and accountability in a dynamic, evolving environment
- Contribute creative and strategic thinking to enterprise initiatives while ensuring practical, high-impact execution
- Support Brain Health initiatives with appropriate domain understanding; prior experience in neuroscience or brain health is a plus but not required
- Leverage emerging technologies, including AI, to enable adaptable, efficient, and scalable approaches to activating Brain Health efforts
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including experience leading or supporting enterprise-level marketing initiatives both internally and externally, with demonstrated ability to align stakeholders, shape narratives, and drive integrated execution.
- Significant experience at the Director level (or equivalent) in marketing, strategy, corporate affairs, or a related field
- Strong marketing fluency required, including experience in positioning, messaging, storytelling, and integrated activation across channels
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, evolving environments and build structure where none exists
- Proven success leading through influence within highly matrixed, cross-functional organizations
- Experience managing external vendors, agencies, and consultants, with a track record of delivering high-quality outcomes
- Strong execution mindset, including project and initiative leadership experience with the ability to move work from concept through delivery
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and align diverse audiences
