Job Overview:

We are seeking experienced Energy Auditors to join our team as 1099 independent contractors in Dallas, Austin, Houston, or San Antonio. As an Energy Auditor with GreenWorks, you will conduct comprehensive energy assessments for residential and commercial properties, identifying opportunities for improved energy efficiency and cost savings. This is a flexible contract role ideal for professionals passionate about sustainability, energy conservation, and building performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site energy audits for residential and commercial properties.
  • Perform blower door tests, duct leakage tests, and infrared thermography to assess building envelope efficiency.
  • Evaluate HVAC systems, insulation, lighting, appliances, and windows for energy performance.
  • Identify areas for energy savings, efficiency upgrades, and renewable energy integration.
  • Provide detailed reports with recommendations for energy improvements and cost savings.
  • Educate homeowners, builders, and business owners on energy efficiency best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with local energy codes, RESNET, HERS, and other efficiency standards.
  • Use GreenWorks' reporting software to document audit findings and recommendations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Certification(s) preferred: RESNET HERS Rater, BPI Building Analyst, LEED Green Associate, or similar.
  • Experience conducting energy audits, home performance assessments, or sustainability consulting.
  • Knowledge of building science, HVAC systems, insulation, and air sealing techniques.
  • Strong understanding of Texas energy codes and efficiency rebate programs.
  • Ability to work independently and manage flexible scheduling.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Reliable transportation for travel to job sites within the assigned region.
  • Must have liability insurance as an independent contractor.
  • Ability to pass a background check (if required by clients).

Compensation & Benefits:
