Job description

Summary To assist with daily box office operations and event ticketing. Student assistants support regular weekly box office hours and provide customer service during theatre, film, and select College of Musical Arts performances. As the public face of the Department of Theatre and Film Box Office, student assistants provide outstanding customer service while ensuring patrons have a positive experience from arrival through curtain.

Career Readiness Competencies: Contribute to creating opportunities that allow all individuals to participate and succeed. Adapt communication style when needed to promote effective teamwork. Offer help to peers or new team members when appropriate.

Recognize team needs and step up when leadership is required. Use campus tools and systems effectively to complete job tasks. Essential Functions Welcome and assist patrons in person, by phone, and at performance events.

Sell tickets using the department's ticketing system. Answer questions regarding performances, ticket policies, parking, and accessibility. Process credit card transactions and assist with cash transactions for designated events following university procedures.

Assist with opening and closing the Box Office. Set up and operate ticket scanners, tablets, printers, and other box office equipment. Work cooperatively with the Box Office Manager, House Manager, and departmental staff.

Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Strong customer service and communication skills.

Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Comfortable learning new computer software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to responsibly handle financial transactions. Additional Information Preferred: Previous customer service, retail, hospitality, or box office experience. Interest in theatre, film, music, or live events.
