Job description

Guest Service Lead
At Saint Honoré Boulangerie, we don’t just bake bread; we curate an experience rooted in the French Art de Vivre—the art of living well. Our neighborhood relies on us for a sense of reliability and a predictable sanctuary of quality. To keep this promise, we need leaders who are the bedrock of our café, ensuring every croissant and café au lait is served with grace and precision.
Before we dive into the details, you can learn more about our story and what it’s like to work with us here: Work at Saint Honoré
Pay amp; Benefits
We value the leadership and stability you bring to our team.
● Pay Range: $17.30 - $21.30 per hour, plus tips.
● Health amp; Wellness: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance through Kaiser.
● Stability: Access to Oregon Sick Pay and the OregonSaves retirement program.
Status: Full-Time, Regular.
Why This Role Matters
We are seeking a Guest Service Lead to act as the heartbeat of our daily operations. Our mission is to share the joy of French culinary arts with the community, and this role ensures that our high standards for food and service never waver, even during our busiest hours.
We are adding this position to provide our team with consistent guidance and to ensure our Store Managers have the support they need to focus on the big picture. This is your chance to step into a leadership role where your joie de vivre (joy of life) and work ethic directly influence the success of a beloved local institution.
Why You’ll Love It
You’ll be more than an employee; you’ll be a mentor in a beautiful, fast-paced environment. If you take pride in being the person the team looks to when things get busy, you will find immense satisfaction here. We celebrate the noblesse oblige of leadership—the idea that with leadership comes the rewarding responsibility of helping others succeed.
Your Daily Rhythms
● Act as the primary point of contact for the team, maintaining a bon vivant spirit while managing the floor.
● Oversee all opening and closing procedures to ensure the bakery is always "stage-ready" for our guests.
● Manage cash control with absolute precision, from balancing registers to completing daily reports in Toast.
● Strategically coordinate staff breaks to ensure seamless service—our neighborhood counts on our predictability!
● Prepare expert-level espresso drinks and plate our artisan fare with an eye for French elegance.
● Mentor and train new hires, sharing your knowledge of our traditional techniques and service standards.
● Maintain strong, proactive communication with the Area Manager to keep the "boulangerie machine" humming.
● Handle inventory and ordering (Level 2) to ensure we never run out of the essentials our guests love.
Your Background
● 1–2 years of leadership experience in a high-volume food service or restaurant environment.
● Unshakeable Reliability: You are someone who shows up—especially on the hard days—with a commitment to your team.
● Communication Pro: You have the ability to give clear direction and keep management informed of all store needs.
● Age Requirement: Must be 21+ (due to lead duties and alcohol sales) and hold (or obtain) Oregon Food Handlers and OLCC cards.
The Interview Process
We want to get to know you as a person and a leader!
1. Video Chat: A quick 15-30 minute "meet and greet" to talk about your experience and style.
2. Onsite Interview: Qualified candidates will be invited to the bakery for a deeper dive. You’ll get to see the store in action and feel the energy of our team firsthand.
