Job description

Booth Management Consulting, LLC (BMC) is a diverse CPA firm that provides accounting, auditing, and management consulting services to public and private clients nationwide. We seek a qualified, motivated, and progressive individual to join our team as an IT Support Lead.


Position Summary

The IT Support Lead will support the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Assistant Manager for Mission Support (AMMS), Information Management Division (IMD). This position provides senior-level technical leadership for IT support operations, serving as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues and directing the daily work of IT support staff. The role oversees the full lifecycle of end-user technology and IT assets, including provisioning, troubleshooting, inventory, vendor coordination, and equipment refreshes. The position independently manages IT projects, allocates resources, develops project plans and priorities, and serves as a key liaison with Government and prime contractor stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings expert knowledge of enterprise hardware and software, advanced problem-solving skills, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to lead technical teams while ensuring operational readiness and mission success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and daily direction to IT support staff, assigning work based on priorities and team capabilities.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of end-user technology and IT assets, including provisioning, configuration, inventory, vendor coordination, and equipment refreshes.
  • Serve as a key liaison with Government, prime contractor, and leadership stakeholders to communicate status, manage expectations, and meet strategic objectives.
  • Apply expert knowledge of enterprise hardware, software, and IT support practices to ensure reliable technology, operational readiness, and mission success.
  • Independently plan and manage IT support projects, including schedules, resources, priorities, execution, and closeout.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues, applying advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving expertise.


Experience & Qualifications

  • BS/BA or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related technical field, and
    • At least 5 years of experience in Information Technology, including
    • A minimum of 3 years providing technical support in DOE or other government agency environments.

OR

  • At least 10 years of experience in Information Technology, including
  • A minimum of 3 years providing technical support in DOE or other government agency environments.


Additional Experience:

  • Experience with Cloud Services to include Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (Resource Manager, VMs, Virtual Networks, Storage Accounts).
  • Windows-based infrastructure experience and background.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting background.
  • Endpoint and Mobile Device Management (MDM) knowledge of managing, securing, and provisioning enterprise endpoints and mobile devices.
  • AD User management and security aspects.
  • General server management (Backup, Patching, Security).
  • Excellent communication and knowledge transfer skills.
  • Ability to independently perform multiple tasks with dynamic priorities.
