Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant Hospitalist

Boone Hospital Center, a 392-bed full service hospital in Columbia, Missouri is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Hospitalist. The candidate for this position will be joining an established hospital within a strong community focused to improve the health of the people and communities we serve.

Boone is currently a Magnet Hospital for its nursing excellence and has also been named the number one hospital in central Missouri and number five overall hospital in the state by U.S. News and World Report.

Overview

Practice Highlights:

  • Join a dynamic team within an established hospital environment dedicated to enhancing community health.
  • Utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill, and competence in a specialized patient care area. Assesses, diagnose, prescribes, initiates plan of care and evaluates outcomes within the scope of a formal collaborative practice agreement with physician(s).
  • Participates in professional development and lifelong learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the health care of select patient populations through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician. Prescriptive responsibilities are reviewed by collaborative physician.
  • Assesses development needs of staff and develops and delivers appropriate educational programs to meet staff needs.
  • Develops treatment plans, treats patients with acute problems including illnesses and minor injuries following a predetermined protocol in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety in this critical role at Boone Health.
  • Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.

  • Degree:
    • o PA: Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree – Accredited PA Program

  • License: Licensed/Certification PA/NP

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree: Doctorate in nursing
  • Experience: 2 to 5 years
