Job description

ASR is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our Corporate Headquarters team in Hauppauge, NY. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of direct ADP payroll processing experience, with ADP Workforce Now experience strongly preferred.
This role supports weekly payroll processing, payroll reconciliations, and month-end accounting support. The successful candidate must be highly accurate, organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable working with confidential payroll and financial information.Responsibilities
  • Process weekly payroll using ADP.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Collect and enter employee timesheets into payroll accounting systems.
  • Prepare payroll data for submission to an outside payroll processing service.
  • Support multi-state payroll processing and multiple legal entities.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries and month-end reconciliations.
  • Reconcile payroll taxes, 401(k), benefits deductions.
  • Research, track, and resolve payroll and accounting discrepancies.
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account data.
  • Work closely with Accounting to support compliance, reporting, invoicing, tax payments, and reconciliations.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field highly preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of direct ADP payroll processing experience required.
  • ADP Workforce Now experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience processing weekly payroll across multiple states.
  • Knowledge of payroll taxes, 401(k), benefits deductions, and reconciliations.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Working understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, reconcile, and manage financial records.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
