Business Office Manager

LilyCare Hospice, a growing community-based hospice, is seeking a Business Office Manager for our New Mexico location. The Business Office Manager supports the Executive Director and the Interdisciplinary Team, keeping office operations running efficiently so our clinical staff can focus on patients and families.

About the Role

As Business Office Manager, you'll manage patient records and referrals, support insurance billing, maintain personnel files, and serve as the first point of contact for patients, families, physician offices, and the community.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct phone calls professionally; take and route referrals to the appropriate team members

  • Initiate, organize, and maintain patient medical records, ensuring completeness and timely filing

  • Review patient records against audit sheets for chart completeness

  • Process required information for insurance billing and maintain an updated patient list for the Billing Coordinator

  • Coordinate patient prescriptions with staff and physicians

  • Maintain current personnel files, track employee documentation, and support HR functions including onboarding and compliance

  • Prepare letters and reports, manage mail, and handle general clerical duties

Requirements

  • 2+ years of office management or similar experience in a home health or hospice setting (required)

  • Prior HR experience, including personnel files, onboarding, and employee documentation

  • Strong customer service orientation and professional phone presence

  • Bookkeeping, clerical, and organizational skills

  • Ability to communicate the hospice concept effectively with team members, patients, families, and physician offices

  • Homecare Homebase (HCHB) experience preferred but not required
