Title: Bookkeeper/Accounting

Job Summary: Z & H is seeking a Bookkeeper with Accounting and General Office Skills. This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Candidate must have strong computer and time-management skills and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Bookkeeping responsibilities will include all aspects of accounting, such as year-end tax preparation for our CPA’s, in-depth reporting and frequent communication with ownership, client draw requests and communication with lenders, general analysis of procedures and programs, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, data entry, profit reporting, and research into cost savings throughout the company. Attention to detail is essential in this role. Your duties will evolve as you gain experience. Our office is a small group, and we wear many hats, so there is room to grow into additional roles. Must have the ability to adapt to shifts in work direction throughout the day, and work with the Purchasing Department and Project Managers to complete certain joint tasks. Careful attention to detail is an absolute requirement. Experience with accounting software and paperless data management strongly preferred.

Bookkeeping tasks:

  • Prepare year-end accounting statements to supply to CPA by January 31st
  • Credit card statement entry and reconciliations monthly
  • Job Profitability and Project Reconciliation Reporting
  • Bank statement reconciliations monthly
  • Perform accounts payable vendor statement reconciliations monthly and handle disputes
  • Complete credit applications for accounts with new vendors
  • Research prior transactions and generate reports upon request
  • Gather reports for insurance audits
  • Verify 1099 information and prepare annually
  • Project Draw Requests
  • Other accounting tasks as needed
