BOOKKEEPER


Rancho Moonrise | Austin, Texas


Rancho Moonrise is seeking an experienced In-House Bookkeeper to manage our monthly bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax payment responsibilities. This is a monthly contract position for a seasoned bookkeeper who is comfortable independently managing the books and ensuring all required business taxes are accurately calculated, filed, and paid on time.


Responsibilities

  • Organize, reconcile, and close the books each month using our online accounting system.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly Profit & Loss statements and financial statements for review by all shareholders.
  • Coordinate with internal staff to obtain the necessary financial information and documentation for tax calculations.
  • Calculate, file, and pay applicable monthly and quarterly business taxes, including:
  • Sales tax
  • Hotel occupancy tax
  • Alcohol-related taxes
  • Maintain accurate records of all tax filings and payments.
  • Monitor tax deadlines and ensure all required filings and payments are completed accurately and on time.
  • Identify and communicate any bookkeeping, accounting, or tax issues that require attention.
  • Work collaboratively with management and internal staff to ensure financial records are complete and accurate.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional bookkeeping experience required.
  • Must be a seasoned, experienced bookkeeper capable of independently managing monthly books and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience calculating, filing, and paying business taxes is required.
  • Hotel or hospitality bookkeeping experience is required.
  • Must have direct experience with hotel occupancy tax.
  • Must have direct experience calculating and paying alcohol-related taxes.
  • Experience managing sales tax filings and payments.
  • Strong understanding of reconciliations, financial statements, and month-end close procedures.
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
  • Able to work independently and meet recurring monthly deadlines.
  • Must be located in Texas.


Preferred

  • Experience working with a hotel, resort, glamping property, event venue, or other hospitality business.
  • Familiarity with businesses that generate both lodging and event revenue.
  • Ability to meet on-site at Rancho Moonrise for occasional meetings is strongly preferred.
