Bookkeeper – Adult Day Center

Location: Rhode Island
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Day Shift
Pay: Competitive, based on experience

Our Adult Day Center is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day financial operations of our organization. Responsibilities

As our Bookkeeper, you will:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger transactions.
  • Process invoices, client billing, vendor payments, and collections in a timely manner.
  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
  • Prepare financial information and reports required for grant reporting.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and expense tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal financial regulations.
  • Support CACFP Food Program billing and Medicaid or third-party billing processes, when applicable.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing required financial documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership and program staff to support organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a healthcare, human services, or nonprofit organization.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, third-party billing, grant reporting, or government-funded programs.
  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory compliance.
