What does a book writer do?

A book writer, also known as an author, creates original written content for books, which can include fiction, non-fiction, biographies, or instructional material. Their responsibilities often involve researching topics, developing ideas, outlining plots or structures, and revising drafts to produce a polished manuscript. Book writers may work independently or collaborate with editors, publishers, and literary agents to bring their work to publication. The process requires creativity, discipline, and attention to detail, as well as an understanding of the target audience.

What are some common challenges faced by professional book writers during the manuscript development process?

Professional book writers often encounter challenges such as maintaining consistent motivation, managing tight deadlines, and overcoming writer’s block. Collaborating with editors and publishers can also require flexibility and openness to feedback, as manuscripts typically go through multiple rounds of revisions. Additionally, balancing creative expression with market demands or publisher guidelines is a frequent challenge. Successful writers rely on strong planning, communication, and time management skills to navigate these hurdles and produce high-quality manuscripts.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a book writer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Book Writer, you need excellent writing and storytelling skills, mastery of grammar and language, and often a background in literature or creative writing. Job description

Account Manager

Full-Time · Sales · Birmingham, AL · In Office
Reports To: VP, Sales Development
Start Date: Immediately

COMPANY OVERVIEW

At Atlas RFID, we help people take their organizations to the next level. Since 2008, we have made RFID and IoT technology clear, accessible, and effective for businesses worldwide, serving more than 75,000 customers in 100+ countries with complete solutions backed by expert guidance and long-term support.

Our Sales Team brings that mission to life every day - working directly with customers to understand their challenges and build the right solutions using the appropriate combination of hardware, software, and professional services.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a proactive, driven Account Manager who wants to build a meaningful book of business, solve real customer problems, and grow alongside a company with nearly two decades of RFID and IoT experience. You will acquire new customers, expand existing relationships, and learn to sell complete technology solutions across hardware, software, and professional services.

This is not a role where you simply quote part numbers and wait for orders. You will work with customers to understand what they are trying to accomplish, recommend the right technology, and help architect solutions that may include RFID hardware, Avancir software, and professional services.

Over time, the goal is to build a profitable book of repeat customers and recurring revenue. Avancir software subscriptions create recurring revenue for Atlas RFID and recurring commission for you, giving you the opportunity to compound the value of the customer relationships you build.

This is an in-office sales role in Birmingham, Alabama - not a field-sales or traveling sales position. Most customer engagement happens through phone calls, email, and virtual meetings.

WHO YOU ARE

You are competitive, resilient, and motivated by results. You enjoy helping customers solve problems, but you are also comfortable prospecting, following up, asking for the business, and staying with an opportunity until you find a way forward.

You thrive in this role because:

  • You put the customer first and genuinely enjoy solving problems.
  • You are proactive, tenacious, goal-driven, and take ownership of your results.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently in writing, by phone, and in virtual meetings.
  • You are organized and detail-oriented enough to manage multiple customers, opportunities, quotes, and follow-ups.
  • You use good judgment - moving quickly and independently when appropriate and knowing when to involve others.
  • You are resilient, curious, team-first, and committed to continually learning and raising the bar.
YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES01 Acquire New Customers & Grow a Profitable Book of Business

Build a growing, profitable customer base through disciplined sales activity, new-customer acquisition, and expansion of existing accounts.

02 Sell Complete Solutions & Build Recurring Revenue

Understand customer needs and recommend the right combination of hardware, Avancir software, and professional services.

03 Deliver an Exceptional Customer Experience & Build Lasting Relationships

Earn trust, repeat business, and long-term relationships by making it easy for customers to work with Atlas RFID.

WHAT YOU'LL DO01 Acquire New Customers & Grow a Profitable Book of Business

  • Prospect strategically to acquire new customers and uncover growth opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Maintain disciplined follow-through, pipeline management, and accurate CRM activity while setting and executing monthly sales plans.
  • Use sound judgment around pricing, proposals, and deal strategy while confidently engaging decision-makers and advancing opportunities.
02 Sell Complete Solutions & Build Recurring Revenue
  • Sell consultatively by starting with the customer's business problem, application, and desired outcome.
  • Develop the RFID and Auto-ID expertise needed to recommend the right solution, including knowing when RFID is - and is not - the right fit.
  • Architect complete solutions across hardware, Avancir software, and professional services based on customer needs.
  • Build recurring revenue by identifying and closing Avancir software opportunities where they add value, while identifying professional services that strengthen the customer solution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers as needed, while staying current on competitors and continually developing your technical, business, and sales knowledge.
03 Deliver an Exceptional Customer Experience & Build Lasting Relationships
  • Understand what the customer is trying to accomplish, respond quickly, communicate clearly, and follow through on commitments.
  • Take ownership of customer issues and coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve problems and meet order and delivery commitments.
  • Build strong relationships through consistent, valuable, and proactive engagement that goes beyond the immediate transaction.
