Parsons Behle & Latimer is seeking a patent prosecutor to join Parsons in any city where Parsons has an office. Parsons is a regional law firm headquartered in Salt Lake City that has national expertise in numerous practice areas. The firm is at the forefront of the legal communities in Utah, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Wyoming, and the Intermountain Region.

The candidate must have a book of business in the range of $300K+ and the ideal candidate may be looking to ease their workload by relying on Parsons’ expert patent team.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO and foreign patent offices
  • Collaborate with inventors, scientists, and engineers to understand technical innovations
  • Manage patent portfolios and provide strategic guidance on IP matters
  • Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and infringement analyses
  • Stay updated with changes in patent law and IP strategies

Qualifications:

  • Admission to practice before the USPTO

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Good judgment and adherence to high ethical standards
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the selected state or ability to be admitted by motion in that state
