Call: Call shared equally with members of the Interventional Radiology Department.

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a 650-provider multispecialty group practice that seeks a board certified or board eligible Interventional Radiologist to join its recently established Interventional Radiology specialty practice primarily in Boise, Idaho. Saint Alphonsus is the principal provider of advanced, innovative and interventional services, and is the only Regional Level II Trauma Center at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC).


As the regional provider of advanced interventional radiology services, Saint Alphonsus Interventional Radiologists will have the opportunity to work with other Interventional Radiologists and Radiology APPs to provide care for patients with complex conditions by incorporating advanced imaging modalities with minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat a wide variety of diseases.


Saint Alphonsus has a well-established interventional radiology service that includes biplane angiography, MRI MRA, CT/CTA, CT perfusion, 4-vessel angiography, and provides an opportunity for Interventional Radiologists to perform embolization, thrombectomy, venous access, TIPS, aortic dissection, peripheral arterial disease, biopsies, ablations, stent placements, and others based on training and community need.

Interventional Radiologists will work primarily at the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (Level II Trauma Center). Weekday procedures are also provided at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center Nampa, with limited coverage obligations at Saint Alphonsus Medical Centers in Ontario and Baker City, Oregon.

When fully staffed the Interventional Radiology provider team includes four (4) Interventional Radiologists, and five (5) Advanced Practice Providers trained in support of the Interventional Radiology practice. Hospital Call is split between Radiologists and APPs to minimize call burden and after-hours support requirements. Primary call location is in Boise at SARMC; with Radiologists responsible for Weeknight and Weekend Interventional Call at SARMC, and APPs covering weekend days in Boise and Nampa for non-invasive IR support.


Support: Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise currently has 44 critical care beds including a 22-bed Trauma Neurosurgery, Stroke and Medical ICU, a 10 bed CVICU, and 10 bed CICU.


Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree;
  • Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA residency program in Radiology;
  • Successful completion of an accredited Fellowship in Interventional Radiology
  • Obtain Idaho and Oregon medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC- Boise and other health system affiliated hospitals as needed;
  • Valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
