THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
  • Maintain and repair the facility's structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing and minor electrical.
  • Operate and monitor continuous process equipment used in the processing and manufacturing of power transformers.
  • Monitor high pressure steam boilers working under the chief boiler operator.
  • Operate and monitor HVAC systems, chillers, building management system, tank farm, air compressors and other process support systems.
  • Work with manufacturing or process engineering in the installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring required in the production process.
  • Make periodic or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary.
  • Work and understand prints, drawings or rough sketches.
  • Understands and performs work within the Company Safety Management System (CSMS) policies.
  • Understand, operate and respond to fire protection system alarms.
  • Perform assigned TPM tasks and assist in identifying needed TPM tasks and frequency adjustments.
  • Perform carpentry and make drywall repairs.
  • Prepare and paint facility surfaces and equipment.
  • Perform sanitary plumbing repairs and maintenance.
  • Replace or repair lighting fixtures including ballasts, lamps and bulbs.
  • Assemble, install, move or adjust racks, shelves, furniture and fixtures.
  • Handle and properly dispose of trash and waste streams including hazardous wastes.
  • Practice 6S and comply with all safety rules, guidelines and safe working practices.
  • Safely operate material handling and lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, motorized scissor lifts, work platforms and floor scrubbers.
  • Assist in training of new employees including improving individual skills as well as assisting in the development of training materials.
  • Actively assist in troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Assist other areas as needed.
  • Works with Manufacturing, EHS, and Manufacturing Control to design, fabricate and/or procure tools used for manufacturing.
  • Support and assist the Plant Engineering and Maintenance Manager as needed.
  • Understand and work under the direction of the appropriate Hyosung HICO policy and/or procedure.
  • Know Hyosung HICO's Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work.

  • Willingness to adjust hours and schedule as required by the business

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
  • High School Diploma or GED plus three years' multi-craft work experience preferably within an industrial environment
  • Hold a Current Class I Shelby County Steam Boiler Operator License or have boiler experience necessary to prepare and obtain license within six months
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge and experience using various power and hand tools
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize many different projects and workload
  • Developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of people are required
  • Must have good eye-hand coordination, arm hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to operate equipment and read technical information

PHYSICAL/MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS OF THE WORKPLACE:
  • Ability to pass necessary training such as HAZWOPER
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to work at elevated heights and climb stairs or ladders
  • Ability to inspect work
  • Ability to work indoors or outdoors as needed in any weather conditions
  • Stand and walk minimum 6-8 hours per day
  • Ability to sit, squat, bend, stretch, twist, crawl, kneel, and reach above the shoulders frequently as required to perform essential job functions
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements
  • Ability to use all applicable PPE including but not limited to hard hat, safety toe shoes, safety glasses, and gloves
