Job description

Company Description
Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) is a world-famous creative agency that makes jaw-dropping, thumb-stopping, eye-opening work for brands across the globe. Founded in London in 1982, we now have offices in New York, Los Angeles, Stockholm, Mumbai, Singapore, and Shanghai. Our first ad for Levi's showed a black sheep travelling in the opposite direction to a flock of white ones. That's where we got our logo and our guiding philosophy: when the world zigs, zag. Why? Because it's easy to zig, to go with the grain. It feels safe. It feels like the sensible thing to do. But the greater risk is failing to stand out. We believe in the power of difference to make a difference.
Our goal is a simple one: make the best work in the world. That's where you come in. We need rebels, dreamers, thinkers, mathematicians, makers, artists, visionaries, doers, observers, the different and the unreasonable. We need Black Sheep. People who want to make the hearts flutter and minds do flips, who can change businesses and culture. People who want to make a difference, come here for something different.

Job Description
We are currently seeking a full-time Account Director - Social First to join our team.
The Account Director leads the relationship, the work, and the vision across key client businesses, with a deep focus on social-first brand building. You'll guide integrated teams to create ideas engineered for culture, built for platforms, and optimized for performance. You're equal parts strategist, relationship architect, and business driver - shaping the work while shaping the partnership.
The account person is the only person in the agency who touches every
aspect of a project in some way: from the relationship with the client, to the relationship with the team, from strategy to finance to creative to production. It is ultimately the role of an account person at any level to ensure that a project meets the client and agency's ambitions to generate great, effective creative work, on time and on budget, and to motivate the team along the way.
Responsibilities
  • A business partner to the clients, using their deep knowledge and understanding of the clients' business in order to create the best conditions for the right work to thrive, leading to the success and growth of both our partners and our agency.
  • Able to manage internal teams (direct reports, colleagues, and seniors) with poise,
clarity and integrity building followership across the board, navigating the BBH
process effortlessly and are able to lean on the internal expertise available (across
offices) to deliver outstanding creative solutions to a range of business problems.
  • Fluent in all phases of the creative process from strategy, through creative to
production and bring their expertise to bear at each stage, foreseeing issues before
they arise and heading them off. Taking pressure off the team by tackling the difficult
conversations and know when to escalate for support is also part of their role.
  • Own the client relationship as the primary strategic partner, ensuring trust, clarity, and forward momentum across all workstreams.
  • Drive the social-first brand strategy, helping clients understand how culture, platforms, and audience behavior shape the creative.
  • Partner with Creative, Strategy, and Production to deliver work that is native to TikTok, Reels, YouTube, and emerging platforms - not retrofitted from traditional campaigns.
  • Oversee day-to-day account operations, ensuring teams are aligned, resourced, and delivering against timelines and KPIs.
  • Translate business challenges into clear briefs, actionable insights, and platform-specific creative opportunities.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years in account management within advertising, social, or digital agencies.
  • Deep fluency in social platforms, creator ecosystems, cultural trends, and content formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and run multiple projects at once
    with minimal oversight
  • A solid understanding of business and marketing strategy
  • Experience leading integrated teams and complex client relationships.
  • Strong strategic instincts - able to connect brand, audience, and platform behavior into actionable direction.
  • Comfort with fast-moving, iterative work cycles and real-time content environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to simplify complexity and inspire confidence.
