Job description

Software Engineer-DevSecOps

Company:

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer-DevSecOps to support our Air Proprietary 2 Mission Systems team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.

The Mission Systems DevSecOps Engineer will be responsible for assisting with developing, configuring, and maintaining the Mission Systems (MS) software development environments across a variety of security levels.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the deployment and configuration of technologies and tools used in software development, including build servers, version control systems, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks

  • Assists with the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of MS software development environments across multiple networks - which includes any tools required for developing, building, and releasing software

  • Assists with the management and maintenance of cloud-based and on premises infrastructures

  • Assists with the creation and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation to simplify infrastructure administration and software deployment

  • Assists with establishing and maintaining development and production environments

  • Assist with ensuring compliance and policy enforcement for applicable design practices and industry standards

  • Assists with the software development tool administration, maintenance, version upgrades, patch management, and integration between the tools (Jira, Gitlab, Artifactory, Confluence, SonarQube, etc)

  • Check and review code to make sure it meets the necessary requirements and standards.

  • Work under general guidance and supervision.

  • Analyze and implement software processes and tools, and document best practices for future use and improvement.

  • Collaborate with different engineering teams and support functions like Supply Chain and Cyber Security to ensure effective collaboration across the organization.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Berkeley, MO.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start may be required)

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 2+ years of experience with C/C++, Python, or C#

  • 2+ years of experience with requirements, design, development, and test of software systems products

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 2+ years of related work experience or Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of directly related work experience or 10+ years of related, relevant experience

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Experience with instituting and maintaining DevSecOps practices and processes

  • Experience with Agile software development

  • Experience with DevSecOps and/or complex software build plans

  • Experience with application DevOps tools, such as GitLab (CI/CD), Git Bash, Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, and Artifactory.

  • Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment practices.

  • Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as (or similar to) Git, JIRA, Collaborator, Beyond Compare and VersionOne

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with stakeholders of different backgrounds and skill levels
