Job description

Structural Analysis Engineer - Experienced/ Senior

Boeing St. Louis is building the future creating innovative solutions that will define the next generation of aerospace. We are currently seeking Experienced or Senior Structural Analysis Engineers to verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.

These positions are located in the Greater St. Louis region and support current and emerging aircraft programs as part of the Air Dominance division in Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS). Positions will be located at one of the listed locations: Berkeley, MO; Hazelwood, MO; St. Louis, MO; St. Charles, MO; Mascoutah, IL.

Position Responsibilities:

Level 3

  • Develop, integrate and document structural requirements to establish the system design

  • Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment

  • Guide product design and verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance

  • Develop test plans and configurations, support test execution and analyze/report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

  • Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied

  • Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements

  • Works under general direction

Level 4

  • Lead development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design

  • Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment

  • Guide product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance

  • Lead development of test plans and configurations, support test execution and analyze/report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

  • Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied

  • Support in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements

  • Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort

  • Works under minimal direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)

  • Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

  • Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

  • Experience performing hand calculations, using industry CAD system (NX/Teamcenter), FEM software (ABAQUS, PATRAN/NASTRAN, Stresscheck, Hyperworks)

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Experience with Boeing Analysis Tools (CAESAR, Lifeworks, Mechanica, Common Structures Workstation)

  • Structural analysis experience on military or commercial aircraft

Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Some positions require the ability to obtain Special Program Access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Shift

This position is for1st and 2nd shift; however, variable shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) may be required to support program objectives. It may be required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
